Interview Question in Op-Amps

Interview Question :: Increase the Level of square wave

hi friends,
I'm doing a project regarding the converting the TTL signal to NIM signal. However, the result from the simulation in MULTISIM do have a little diverse in real time simulation.
Here is my question,
1) i got the output square wave at the logic 0 recorded 600mv and logic 1 is -20mv. the result i wish to get is logic 0 record (range 1v to 0volt) and logic 1 is (-1.8v to -0.6v)...how to increase the gain of the level?by using operational amplifier? which type of op-amp i have to use?

thanks for helping hand

RE: Increase the Level of square wave?

How fast do you need it? Really fast? An opamp circuit will do the trick if you use e.g. an AD8000, AD8001, AD8003 or AD8009.

READ THE DATA SHEET. With these parts you really need to read the data sheet and then FOLLOW the instructions. Especially everything related to ground and power supply decoupling and feedback configurations.

You could use a comparator such as the LM311. They have an open collector output which lends itself to level shifting. Just be careful when using these as they oscillate during transitions. Allow ample settling time for scanning and they should be OK.
