Interview Question in Vacuum Tubes

Interview Question :: What;s the best Holley carb

I have a 360 small block,
bored .30 over
218/218 dur, .454/.454 lift cam,
Summit performance small tube headers,
Edelbrock Performer RPM air gap intake manifold.

With the power band of the engine being from about 1,000-5,600rpm what would be the best carb to go with? I am probably looking for a vacuum setup and I would rather have a holley for tuning preferences but if you know a far better carb please tell.

RE: What;s the best Holley carb?

LeAnne's answer is pretty good....a carb sizing chart shows it should have around 525 CFM at 90 percent volumetric efficiency but 600 CFM would be close enough. I'd prefer a spread-bore carb for better low-end throttle response and fuel economy, vacuum secondaries and electric choke. The problem with spread-bore's is you have to commit to a manifold for it also. Holleys are pretty good for tuning or pickup a cheap Rochester set-up to fiddle with....parts can be had through a GM dealer.

600 CFM, vacuum secondaries with electric choke.

Make sure it has been modified to prevent the power valve blow out concerns.
